Dubai Showcases Monumental Artwork Honoring Sheikh Zayed and Sheikh Rashid

Post by : Bianca Haleem

Dubai has launched a remarkable tribute to the UAE's Founding Fathers as part of this year's National Month festivities. In collaboration with Dubai Municipality, Brand Dubai has introduced an expansive ground installation that showcases a unified portrait of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum.

Located at the roundabout in front of Dubai Frame and adjacent to the Sheikh Zayed Road and Zabeel Park junction, the artwork spans a diameter of 82 meters. Crafted with precision, the design incorporates vibrant gravel to form a portrait that can be fully appreciated from above. Its scale and strategic position render it one of the standout features introduced during this month-long celebration.

This installation is part of the second iteration of the #ZayedAndRashid campaign, aimed at commemorating the journeys and contributions of these two leaders. Their combined vision and partnership play a pivotal role in the UAE's growth narrative, and this artwork serves to remind both locals and visitors of the foundational principles upon which the nation stands.

The choice of location opposite Dubai Frame symbolizes the convergence of the UAE's rich history and its contemporary progress, providing a vantage point that links the nation's legacy with its modern triumphs. To maintain the integrity and clarity of the gravel, crews employed a specialized insulating base, ensuring the details are preserved over time. The circular formation creates a striking aerial view that contrasts brilliantly with the urban surroundings.

As part of National Month, this initiative introduces a new visual dynamic to the city, merging artistic creativity with national pride. It seeks to inspire younger generations and reinforce the values of unity, ambition, and resilience that were instrumental in the country's formative years.
