The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has extended its heartfelt condolences to the families impacted by the tragic incident involving the passenger vessel MV Trisha Kerstin 3, which has left the nation mourning as rescues persist.
As reported, the accident occurred on Monday at approximately 1:50 am (1750 GMT) while the MV Trisha Kerstin 3 was en route to Jolo in the Sulu province, having set sail from Zamboanga. This unfortunate event has raised significant alarm and prompted emergency teams to mobilize swiftly.
By Tuesday, rescuers had successfully saved 316 individuals affected by the incident. Authorities are diligently working to assist all the impacted parties, with search and rescue efforts ongoing to find anyone who may still be missing.
The Ministry reiterated its commitment to supporting the families of the victims, underscoring the government's determination to deliver all necessary assistance during this challenging period.
