Dubai Celebrates National Month's Grand Finale

Dubai Celebrates National Month's Grand Finale

Post by : Bianca Haleem

Dubai has officially marked the conclusion of its second National Month, a 30-day celebration infused with patriotism and vibrant cultural presence across the city. Organized by Brand Dubai, the initiative involved a collaborative effort from over 250 government, semi-government, and private entities, demonstrating the city's enduring spirit of unity.

This year’s observance highlighted prominent national occasions, starting with Flag Day and culminating with the 54th Eid Al Etihad. All events fell under the #ZayedAndRashid campaign, honoring the Founding Fathers—Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum—whose foresight set the path for the nation’s unity and development.

Right from the kickoff, the celebrations elicited tremendous public involvement. Families, residents, tourists, and citizens participated in activities that emphasized loyalty, identity, and unity—the key values the campaign sought to promote. This engagement was echoed online, witnessing over 160,000 digital posts, more than 75 million video views, and an estimated worldwide reach of 2.9 billion.

An integral highlight of this year's festivities was the robust cooperation among various Dubai institutions. Government agencies, cultural organizations, community groups, and private sectors collaborated to transform national values into unforgettable experiences. According to organizers, this collaborative spirit is central to Dubai's ethos during national events and strengthens the bond between people and the country’s forward-looking vision.

Creative storytelling was a recurring theme throughout National Month, with over 150 local businesses from the Proudly from Dubai initiative showcasing innovative ideas and community-driven experiences. Their involvement enhanced local entrepreneurship and spotlighted Dubai's creative talent.

Festivities commenced on November 3 with Flag Day, highlighted by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum raising the UAE flag at the Dubai International Financial Centre, accompanied by a striking artwork of Sheikh Zayed and Sheikh Rashid crafted by Brand Dubai. This artwork seamlessly fused elements of the UAE’s rich past with aspirations in innovation and space.

One of the standout attractions was the Flag Garden in Umm Suqeim 2, where 11,000 flags formed a gigantic 60-by-90 meter homage to the two leaders, drawing thousands of visitors throughout the month.

Celebrations extended citywide, featuring various artistic and cultural initiatives. Dubai Metro carriages on the Red Line displayed images of the Founding Fathers alongside verses from the poem ‘The People and the Leader’. At Expo City Dubai, the Firdaus Women’s Orchestra delivered a musical tribute inspired by the poem, adding an artistic touch to the celebrations.

Another notable highlight was a large 82-meter ground artwork near Dubai Frame, crafted from colorful gravel, designed for aerial observation, representing one of the city’s most remarkable tributes during National Month.

The festivities concluded on December 2 with the Al Etihad Parade, showcasing over 500 vehicles in a celebratory display that commenced at Union House—the birthplace of the Union—and concluded at Burj Al Arab, symbolizing the UAE’s progression from its historical roots to contemporary accomplishments.

With community engagement, creativity, and national pride at its core, this year’s National Month powerfully illustrated the deep connections people maintain with the UAE’s narrative and its aspirations for the future.
