Oman Welcomes Gaza Ceasefire Agreement and Regional Stability

Post by : Mariam Al-Faris

The Sultanate of Oman has expressed its support for the agreement on the terms and mechanisms for implementing the first phase of the ceasefire in Gaza. The announcement was made through a statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, highlighting Oman’s commitment to peace and stability in the region.

The agreement is expected to play a key role in halting hostilities, enabling the release of prisoners and detainees on both sides, and ensuring that humanitarian aid reaches the people affected by the conflict in the Gaza Strip.

Emphasis on Regional and International Cooperation

Oman stressed the importance of continuing efforts at both regional and international levels to stabilize the ceasefire. The country emphasized that collaborative action among neighboring states and global partners is essential to prevent further escalation and to maintain calm in the area.

The statement called for consistent dialogue and cooperation among relevant parties to uphold the terms of the ceasefire and to ensure that all humanitarian and security measures are implemented effectively.

Path Toward a Political Solution

The Sultanate also highlighted that the ceasefire should serve as a foundation for a just and comprehensive political solution. Such a solution would respect the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people while creating conditions for lasting peace and security in the region.

Oman reiterated its position that sustainable stability in the region can only be achieved through political dialogue, negotiation, and a mutual commitment to peaceful resolutions of conflicts.

Humanitarian Focus

A central aspect of Oman’s support is the provision of humanitarian aid to those affected by the conflict. The ceasefire agreement is expected to facilitate the entry of essential supplies, medical aid, and relief resources into Gaza, addressing urgent needs and alleviating suffering among civilians.

Oman emphasized that ensuring humanitarian access is a critical component of promoting peace and building trust between the parties involved.

Oman reaffirmed its commitment to supporting peace and stability in the Middle East. The country underlined the need for continuous diplomatic engagement, effective monitoring of the ceasefire, and international support to ensure that the agreement leads to meaningful progress toward reconciliation and security.

The Sultanate’s statement reflects its ongoing role as a constructive partner in regional diplomacy, encouraging dialogue, cooperation, and the protection of human rights in conflict zones.
