His Highness Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Development and Fallen Heroes’ Affairs, attended the Open Masters Games Abu Dhabi 2026, the first event of its kind in the Middle East.
During his visit, His Highness toured Zayed Sports City, observing the tennis tournament and noting the competitive spirit and interaction among athletes of different age groups. He commended participants for contributing to the long-term development of sports in Abu Dhabi and promoting a legacy of lifelong wellness.
His Highness also visited ADNEC Centre Abu Dhabi, where he watched the badminton final and table tennis competitions. He met with organisers, participants, and volunteers, highlighting their role in fostering connections across generations and cultures, and using sports to strengthen socially engaged communities.
Sheikh Theyab praised organisers for showcasing Abu Dhabi’s ability to host world-class multi-sport events. He also welcomed the inclusion of six traditional competitions in the programme, which highlight UAE national identity.
The Open Masters Games Abu Dhabi 2026 will continue until 15 February at multiple locations across the emirate, demonstrating Abu Dhabi’s organisational excellence and reinforcing its position as a top global destination for major sporting events.
