In a somber incident, two women were discovered lifeless in an apartment in Izumi City, Osaka Prefecture, leading to a thorough police investigation into the details surrounding their tragic deaths. Authorities have identified the victims as a 76-year-old mother and her 41-year-old daughter.
The grim discovery occurred Wednesday afternoon when a male family member visited the apartment after the daughter failed to appear at work, raising alarms among her colleagues.
Arriving around 12:30 p.m., the relative found both women unresponsive on the floor and immediately contacted emergency services, reporting signs of multiple injuries and bleeding.
Emergency responders were quick to arrive at the scene, but both women were pronounced dead shortly thereafter. Preliminary observations suggest the nature of the injuries may indicate foul play, though police have yet to confirm these speculations.
Situated approximately 1.7 kilometers east of Shinodayama Station, the apartment is in a quiet residential neighborhood of Izumi City. Investigators are currently examining the area and collecting evidence to unravel the details leading to the fatalities.
Authorities plan to conduct autopsies to accurately determine the cause and timing of death while exploring the possibility of third-party involvement or other contributing factors.
Officials have urged the community to refrain from jumping to conclusions as the investigation remains in its initial phases. Updates will follow as forensic results and other information become available.
