Pakistan Nabs Four TTP Militants Linked to Islamabad Suicide Strike

Islamabad, Nov 14: Law enforcement in Pakistan has apprehended four militants associated with the outlawed Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) after a tragic suicide attack outside the Islamabad District Judicial Complex earlier this week. The assault, which took place on Tuesday in the G-11 sector, resulted in the deaths of 12 individuals and injuries to 36.

The government announced via social media that these arrests were made during a collaborative operation by the Intelligence Bureau Division alongside the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD). Officials labeled this operation as a pivotal movement towards dismantling the TTP infrastructure targeting law enforcement in the region.

Detailed Planning of the Attack

Investigation findings indicated that the TTP's high command stationed in Afghanistan orchestrated the suicide attack with precision. The assailant, identified as Usman, alias Qari, was allegedly directed in every phase by the group. Usman’s handler, Sajidullah, alias Sheena, confessed that he was coordinated by TTP commander Saeedur Rehman, alias Daadullah, through Telegram, with the intent to cause maximum harm to security forces.

Sheena stated he received images of the suicide bomber from Daadullah along with instructions to create a suicide vest, which he sourced from a graveyard in Peshawar and brought to Islamabad. On the fateful day, he outfitted Usman with the vest, completing their lethal preparations.

TTP's High-Level Oversight

“Every aspect of this network was overseen by the TTP leadership in Afghanistan. The entire cell involved in this incident, including its leader and three accomplices, has been apprehended,” stated the government. Officials highlighted that these arrests signify a significant blow to TTP operations within Pakistan.

The government further revealed that ongoing investigations are expected to yield additional arrests and insights as security agencies intensify their efforts to dismantle this terror network.
