Protest by Cockroach Janta Party Demands Minister's Resignation in Delhi

Post by : Raina Al-Fahim

In a significant gathering at Jantar Mantar, New Delhi, members of the Cockroach Janta Party rallied on Saturday to voice their demands concerning the NEET paper leak. Central to their protests is the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, driven by concerns for transparency within the educational framework of India.

Initiated by Abhijeet Dipke, who travelled from the U.S. for this cause, the Cockroach Janta Party—a movement rooted in social media—was granted permission by the Delhi Police for the demonstration. Security measures were notably tight, with extensive arrangements made to ensure a safe environment for the protest.

Sonam Wangchuk, a renowned activist and innovator, took part in the protest, enhancing its visibility and drawing public interest. His involvement underscored the seriousness of the activists' demands, leading to a significant turnout at the site throughout the day.

The protest's primary aim was to advocate for justice for students impacted by the NEET scandal while holding accountable those responsible. Participants distributed pamphlets highlighting their calls for accountability and the minister's resignation, asserting that their online petition supporting these demands has garnered over 800,000 signatures.

To maintain order, approximately 2,000 police personnel were deployed in the central areas surrounding the protest site, closely monitoring the event while ensuring that participants could express their discontent peacefully.

Since its inception on May 16, by Abhijeet Dipke, the Cockroach Janta Party has emerged as a poignant satirical digital movement that quickly captured public attention online, amassing millions of followers and becoming a hot topic across social media.

This latest demonstration has renewed focus on the NEET paper leak issue, with organizers pledging to persist in their demand for accountability and reform within the educational system.
