This announcement was made by Geek Pictures India, who revealed that the film is embarking on its next international phase with this theatrical release in Japan. Pushpa 2 has sustained its momentum through exceptional performance at the box office. Following a remarkable 50-day run, the film returned with a re-edited version that included an additional 20 minutes of content. It made history as the first Hindi film to earn over ₹800 crores and eventually surpassed ₹1,800 crores in global revenue, solidifying its status as India's highest-grossing film. This remarkable achievement has set new standards for both domestic and international box office performance.

The narrative revolves around Pushpa Raj, a man who rises from adversity to lead a dominant red-sandalwood syndicate. The film is the second installment in a planned three-part series, produced by Mythri Movie Makers and Sukumar Writings, with music provided by T-Series. Originally released in theaters on December 5, 2024, its Japan premiere represents another significant milestone in its worldwide journey.
