Ranveer Singh's Dhurandhar Set to Debut Amid Mixed Advance Sales

Ranveer Singh's Dhurandhar Set to Debut Amid Mixed Advance Sales

Post by : Meena Hassan

Ranveer Singh and Aditya Dhar join forces for the exciting spy thriller, Dhurandhar, which is set to hit cinemas globally on December 5. Taking place in Pakistan’s notorious gangster region of Lyari, this film features an impressive cast, including Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt, R. Madhavan, and Akshaye Khanna. The trailer has garnered positive attention, creating anticipation around the release.

Advance ticket sales commenced on Monday, quickly crossing ₹1 crore. Nonetheless, there has been a noticeable dip in sales over the last few days. By Wednesday afternoon, advance bookings for the opening day reached ₹2.28 crore, with around 50,000 tickets sold. Sales are anticipated to increase as additional showings are scheduled closer to the premiere.

Early estimates hinted that Dhurandhar might achieve one of the largest openings for a Hindi film this year, with potential to outshine offerings like Chhaava and War 2. However, current trends suggest a more conservative start. Experts now project an opening day net collection of ₹18-20 crore in India, with cautious estimates around ₹15 crore. Even if this falls short of the year's top earners, like Saiyaara (₹21.50 crore) and Chhaava (₹31 crore), the film is still expected to fare well at the box office.

Dhurandhar will premiere on approximately 5,000 screens in India, promising an exhilarating spy thriller experience for audiences this weekend.
