Ravie Dubey Discusses Ramayana: Ranbir Kapoor's Unwavering Commitment

Post by : Samir Qureshi

Director Nitesh Tiwari plans to adapt the ancient epic Ramayana into a remarkable cinematic experience. Produced by Namit Malhotra and featuring a formidable cast including Ranbir Kapoor, Ravie Dubey, Sunny Deol, Sai Pallavi, and Yash, this film aims to encapsulate the essence of the timeless tale with authenticity and impressive cinematic artistry. It will be released in two parts, with the first debuting on Diwali 2026 and the second on Diwali 2027.

In a recent podcast with Ranveer Allahbadia, Ravie Dubey, who portrays Lakshman, reflected on the remarkably efficient atmosphere during production. He characterized it as a smooth process with no long shifts, full preparations, and punctuality, marking it as a rarity in large film projects. “The Ramayana sets operated seamlessly. Everyone was disciplined, well-prepared, and deeply committed to their roles,” Ravie stated.

Ravie discussed the transformative impact of his role: “Playing Lakshman required a complete overhaul of my routine and behavior to embody the character authentically, as audiences can quickly detect inauthenticity. We all, including Ranbir Kapoor, adapted our lives to honor these legendary figures. This felt more like a yagya than a mere film shoot.”

Emphasizing Ranbir Kapoor’s commitment, Ravie noted, “Ranbir possesses an extraordinary aura. He is composed, graceful, and utterly dedicated. His energy is gentle yet impactful, influencing everyone around him.” Conversely, he described Yash, who plays Ravana, as exceedingly warm and approachable. “Both actors are distinct, yet equally kind-hearted,” he remarked.

The film's diverse cast further enriches this adaptation. Sunny Deol takes on the role of Lord Hanuman with a commanding presence, Sai Pallavi embodies Sita with both grace and fortitude, while Yash brings a layered intensity to Ravana. Nitesh Tiwari's direction, along with Mukesh Chhabra’s casting prowess, seeks to ensure that each character resonates profoundly with the audience.

Earlier this year, the creators revealed the film's initial visuals, sparking immense excitement among fans. The stunning depiction of Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama captivated viewers, spotlighting the grand scale of the project. The film's narrative approach marries traditional storytelling with contemporary cinematic methods, ensuring it resonates with both devoted fans of the epic and broader audiences.

Ravie Dubey’s commentary also emphasizes the rigorous preparation undertaken for the film. Actors delved into not only their characters' psychological dimensions but also physical discipline, dialogue, and mannerisms. “Every movement, every word, every nuance had to be authentic. We made sacrifices for our commitment to realism,” Ravie disclosed.

With Ramayana, Nitesh Tiwari aspires to deliver a monumental saga blending devotion, drama, and cinematic marvel. The union of Ranbir Kapoor’s dedication, a stellar supporting cast, and meticulous production values promises an iconic film experience, marking this adaptation as one of the decade's most awaited releases.

The first part is set for release on Diwali 2026, followed by the second in 2027, continuing the story’s grandeur and attention to detail. Fans are eagerly anticipating this venture, which seeks to bring India's cherished epic to life with visual splendor and deep emotional resonance.
