The seventh edition of the Riyadh Al-Sharia Forum began on Monday at the Nizwa Cultural Center in Oman. Organised by the Department of Endowments and Religious Affairs in Al-Dakhiliyah Governorate, the three-day forum is being held under the theme “Mastery Creates Innovation… and Education Makes an Impact.” The event is taking place under the patronage of Ahmed bin Saleh Al-Rashidi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs.
The forum builds on the outcomes of previous editions and aims to strengthen religious discourse, education and guidance. In a recorded address during the opening ceremony, Dr. Mohammed bin Saeed Al-Maamari, Minister of Endowments and Religious Affairs, described excellence as a central part of effective work and long-term civilisational development. He highlighted the role of modern tools and artificial intelligence in education and guidance, saying that technology should serve human needs and help improve learning.
The opening programme featured a visual presentation and the forum's anthem. The accompanying “Insight and Mastery” exhibition was also inaugurated, and participants were honoured during the ceremony. The exhibition is designed to connect educational values with practical learning and innovation.
The first day's sessions will cover digital jurisprudence, guidelines for dealing with artificial intelligence, mastery in worship and planning for achievement. On the second day, discussions will focus on innovation, creating impact and applications of artificial intelligence. Participants will also learn about the “Sahl” platform and the “Rasikh” project, which emerged from the Waqf Hackathon.
The forum will conclude on its third day with a session titled “Following in the Footsteps of the Prophets.” The programme will also review the Mazoon Al-Khair Quran Recitation Center and educational models from Sheikh Hamoud Al-Sawafi School. These sessions are intended to share experiences and highlight approaches to religious and educational development.
The “Insight and Mastery” exhibition targets mothers and schoolgirls, particularly students in the second cycle of education. It offers an interactive learning experience built around six pillars: “I Learn, I Understand, I Master, I Renew, I Invest and I Innovate.” The exhibition aims to connect values with knowledge, encourage excellence and promote the responsible use of technology and artificial intelligence within ethical and religious principles. It also highlights local student innovations and experiences supported by the Education and Guidance Endowment.
The event brings together participants and professionals from religious and educational institutions to exchange experiences and discuss modern practices. Through its sessions and exhibition, the forum seeks to support educational development, encourage innovation and strengthen the role of technology in religious guidance.
