Salman Khan’s ₹10,000 Crore Film City Agreement to Propel Telangana Forward

Post by : Meena Hassan

During the Telangana Rising Global Summit, the state government signed an impressive ₹10,000-crore agreement with Salman Khan Ventures Pvt. Ltd. for a comprehensive film production complex and township. This major investment marks a significant milestone for Telangana's creative economy and fortifies the state's global identity.

The groundwork for this collaboration was laid when Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy met Bollywood icon Salman Khan in Mumbai in late October 2025. The Chief Minister invited Khan to contribute to the “Telangana Rising” movement aimed at attracting considerable Bollywood investments in the South Indian cinema landscape.

Khan commended Telangana for its rapid advancements in infrastructure and the government’s innovative approach, expressing his intent to assist with the state's international outreach. This constructive dialogue propelled further negotiations, ultimately resulting in the memorandum of understanding (MoU) for the extensive studio complex in Bharat Future City.

Officials report that the initiative promises to create thousands of jobs across various sectors, including construction, film production services, specialized technical roles, and sectors related to tourism, retail, and hospitality.

Central to this undertaking is a state-of-the-art film studio designed for substantial cinematic productions, OTT content, post-production processes, and advanced visual effects services. This development is set to establish Hyderabad as a prime filmmaking center capable of attracting projects from Bollywood, regional cinema, and even Hollywood.

The township will boast premium infrastructure, including a championship golf course, a racetrack, luxury residences, and designated hospitality areas. The synergy of entertainment and upscale urban amenities is expected to significantly enhance luxury tourism within the region.

Talent development remains a fundamental focus, incorporating training initiatives aimed at elevating the skills of local artists, technicians, and production professionals to meet international benchmarks. Authorities anticipate this will foster a robust talent pool and facilitate ongoing growth in the creative ecosystem.

Expressing enthusiasm for the investment, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy remarked that this project will “solidify Telangana's status as one of India’s premier locations for film production, entertainment, and luxurious residential development.” The state government is dedicated to ensuring the successful implementation with comprehensive regulatory support, smart land planning, and enhanced connectivity.
