The Saudi Media Academy, under the Ministry of Media, has launched the first phase of its Media Leaders Track in Switzerland. This is a special training program designed to teach professionals how to manage global events successfully. The program is being held in cooperation with EHL Hospitality Business School, which is ranked the world’s top university for hospitality management by the QS World University Rankings.
This initiative marks an important step in enhancing the skills of media professionals and creatives in Saudi Arabia. It aims to provide hands-on experience in planning, organizing, and executing major events while learning from international experts.
Memorandum of Understanding Signed
The program launch included a formal signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the Saudi Media Academy and EHL. The event was attended by key officials, including the Assistant Minister of Media and the academy’s board chairman, Dr. Abdullah bin Ahmed Al-Maghlouth.
The agreement strengthens international collaboration and promotes the exchange of knowledge and culture with leading academic institutions worldwide. It aligns with the Ministry of Media’s vision to support and empower Saudi talent in the media sector, providing opportunities for professional growth and exposure to global standards.
Leadership from Both Sides
Academy Chief Executive Khalid Zain Al-Abdeen and Stéphane Haddad, Associate Dean of Executive Education Programs at EHL, officially signed the MoU. Their collaboration ensures that the program will be of high quality and provide participants with practical skills that are immediately applicable in their work.
The cooperation between a Saudi national institution and a globally recognized university highlights the commitment to developing local talent while adopting international best practices in media and event management.
Intensive Five-Day Training Camp
The training program in Switzerland spans five days of intensive, hands-on experience. Participants attend workshops led by international experts in media and event management. They also take part in site visits to world-class event institutions to observe and learn practical applications.
The training focuses on several key areas, including planning and executing large-scale events, team leadership, audience engagement, and effective communication. Participants gain skills that can be used for both national and international media projects.
First Phase of a Four-Stage Program
This training represents the first practical phase of a four-stage Media Leaders Track. After completing this initial phase, participants will continue with specialized training in other locations.
The second phase will be a digital advertising course in Riyadh, followed by an international media camp in Singapore. The program will conclude with an advanced course in leadership communication strategies. Each stage is designed to build new skills and expand the participants’ professional abilities in a structured way.
Targeting Professionals and Creatives
The Media Leaders Track is aimed at professionals and creative individuals across different sectors. It is designed to improve their ability to manage media effectively, organize national events, and create impactful media campaigns.
Participants also learn how to represent Saudi Arabia in global forums, ensuring that the Kingdom’s media presence is strong and professional. The program encourages innovation, teamwork, and leadership, helping Saudi media professionals meet international standards.

The program also emphasizes cultural exchange and knowledge sharing, ensuring that participants gain insights from global best practices while applying them in the local context.
Practical Skills for Event Management
Participants in the program receive hands-on experience in all aspects of event management. They learn how to plan major events, coordinate with teams, manage logistics, and engage audiences effectively.
Workshops cover topics such as leadership, creative direction, and communication strategies, while site visits give participants real-world insights into how major global events are managed. This practical approach ensures that learning is not just theoretical but applicable to real professional scenarios.
Building International Networks
By training with EHL and participating in international workshops, Saudi media professionals also have the opportunity to network with global experts. This allows them to build valuable connections, share knowledge, and collaborate on future projects.
These international relationships help Saudi media professionals stay updated with global trends and innovative practices, enhancing the quality and impact of Saudi events and media campaigns worldwide.
Preparing Leaders for the Media Industry
The Media Leaders Track is designed to develop future leaders in the media industry. Participants gain skills that enable them to manage teams, plan large-scale events, and create engaging content.
The program helps cultivate professionals who can make decisions, solve problems, and lead projects that reflect the Kingdom’s vision and international standards. Graduates of the program are expected to play a key role in raising the quality of media and events in Saudi Arabia.
Long-Term Impact on the Media Sector
This training initiative is expected to have a long-term impact on the Saudi media sector. By equipping professionals with international skills and knowledge, the Kingdom strengthens its capacity to organize major national events and represent itself on global platforms.
The program encourages creativity, innovation, and professional excellence, ensuring that Saudi media professionals are prepared to meet the challenges of the evolving global media industry.
