The meeting was held in the presence of His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi.

Praise for Emergency Response Efforts

The Council expressed appreciation to the Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Management Team in Sharjah, along with local and federal entities and private sector partners, for their coordinated response during the recent adverse weather conditions.

Officials highlighted the success of proactive strategies implemented across the emirate, noting that no casualties or injuries were recorded. The Council also commended residents for adhering to safety guidelines and cooperating with authorities.

High Readiness and Operational Efficiency

SEC praised the preparedness and swift response of emergency teams, revealing that more than 74,000 reports were efficiently handled through the operations room.

Authorities also rolled out multilingual awareness campaigns to ensure effective communication across diverse communities, reinforcing public safety and awareness.

Focus on Government Performance and Legislation

The Council reviewed multiple agenda items related to enhancing government performance, strengthening legislative frameworks, and improving service delivery standards. These efforts aim to support Sharjah’s broader vision of sustainable and comprehensive development.

Approval of University of Arts Law

A draft law regulating the establishment of a University of Arts was approved during the session. The Council directed that the draft be forwarded to the Sharjah Consultative Council to complete its legislative process.

New Regulations for EV Charging Stations

In a move towards sustainable infrastructure, SEC issued a decision to regulate electric vehicle charging stations across the emirate.

The regulation covers:

  • Installation and operational guidelines

  • Safety and quality standards

  • Tariffs and service frameworks

  • Compliance measures and penalties

This step is expected to enhance Sharjah’s readiness for future mobility solutions.

Amendments to Social Professionals Licensing Committee

The Council approved amendments to the committee responsible for licensing social professionals in Sharjah. The committee will now be chaired by Suleiman Khamis Rashid Al Naqbi, alongside a panel of specialised members.

Tourism Growth and Event Expansion

SEC reviewed a report by the Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority, highlighting a rise in tourism activities, events, and visitor numbers across the emirate.

The report showcased diverse entertainment offerings designed for all age groups, reflecting Sharjah’s growing appeal as a cultural and tourism destination.
