Shakira Reveals Official Anthem Dai Dai for FIFA World Cup 2026

Post by : Bianca Haleem

Colombian music icon Shakira has unveiled a sneak peek of her upcoming song “Dai Dai,” which will serve as the anthem for the FIFA World Cup 2026.

The video, released from Brazil's renowned Maracanã Stadium, features Shakira captivating the audience alongside dancers. The teaser showcases her singing in English: “Here in this place / You belong… What broke you once / Made you strong,” complemented by a male voice harmonizing.

As per her social media announcement, the full track will debut on May 14 and features the talented Burna Boy, marking a significant international collaboration.

The much-anticipated FIFA World Cup 2026 is set to commence on June 11, featuring Mexico against South Africa at Mexico City's Azteca Stadium. The culminating match will take place on July 19 at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, close to New York City.

Shakira is well-known for her contributions to World Cup music, having previously performed the iconic “Waka Waka (This Time for Africa)” for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.

“Dai Dai” stands apart from another official campaign track by Coca-Cola, a reimagined version of Van Halen’s “Jump,” featuring J Balvin, Travis Barker, Amber Mark, and Steve Vai.

Coca-Cola's rendition also introduces new Spanish lyrics penned by J Balvin, blending Latin and Brazilian influences in a celebration of global football.

With “Dai Dai,” Shakira makes her return to the World Cup stage, reaffirming her long-standing connection with this premier football event.
