His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of the UAE, and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai, visited the Dubai Health headquarters on Tuesday, highlighting the emirate's commitment to enhancing high-quality, forward-thinking healthcare.
Sheikh Hamdan was joined on this visit by Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, First Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance of the UAE; Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Health Board of Directors; and Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice Chairman of the Board.
During the tour, Sheikh Hamdan received updates on the extensive range of projects and initiatives undertaken by Dubai Health that integrate patient care, medical education, research, and community services within a single academic health framework. These initiatives aim to bolster healthcare outcomes and position Dubai as a global hub for medical excellence and innovation.
Stressing the vital role of healthcare in Dubai's growth, Sheikh Hamdan noted that the health of the community plays a critical role in the emirate's long-term success. He remarked that Dubai Health embodies the leadership’s vision as part of Dubai Social Agenda 33, delivering advanced, science-driven healthcare services that align with international standards while addressing both preventive and curative needs.
He commended the Dubai Health workforce for their dedication to patients and families, emphasizing their essential role in fostering trust and enhancing quality of life in the community. Sheikh Hamdan also reiterated Dubai’s ambition for Dubai Health to become the foremost global academic health system, driven by research, creativity, and a focus on patient-centric care.
During the visit, Sheikh Hamdan toured the Health Operations Centre, reviewing various community-based and digital healthcare programs aimed at enhancing access and efficiency. He was also briefed about the Reaya Initiative, which offers specialized healthcare services for senior citizens and individuals of determination.
Additionally, officials discussed advancements made under the Patient Journey Redesign Programme, which seeks to simplify access to healthcare, improve service quality, and broaden home-based care and telemedicine options to better cater to patients throughout Dubai.
This visit underscored Dubai’s unwavering commitment to cultivating a strong, inclusive, and innovation-focused healthcare system that adheres to global best practices.
