His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan attended the 19th Dubai Airshow today, highlighting the event's significance at Dubai World Central under the theme “The Future is Here.” This global exhibition, running until 21st November, features leaders from aviation, aerospace, and defence industries worldwide.
During his visit, Sheikh Mohamed toured both indoor exhibits and outdoor displays, reviewing groundbreaking technologies introduced by local and international firms. The show presented a diverse range of advancements, from modern civil aviation technologies to next-gen military aircraft and sophisticated air-defence systems.
A notable highlight included the unveiling of the Badr-250 (B-250), a versatile aircraft developed by Emirati engineers at Calidus Group. This aircraft represents a significant achievement in the UAE's defence manufacturing sector, showcasing years of innovation and technical proficiency. Sheikh Mohamed engaged closely with the design team throughout his examination of the aircraft.
At the Tawazun Council for Defence Enablement's pavilion, he learned about new initiatives aimed at enhancing a robust and future-oriented defence ecosystem within the UAE. The council displayed projects focused on bolstering domestic production and promoting sustainable industrial advancement.
Sheikh Mohamed commented on the notable growth of the UAE’s defence and aerospace sectors, appreciating the contributions of Emirati professionals and the rising importance of national firms on the global stage. He reiterated the role of the Dubai Airshow as a premier venue for innovation, bringing together creators, manufacturers, and industry leaders to explore new avenues.
At Dubai World Central, Sheikh Mohamed was greeted by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, along with Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Deputy Prime Minister, prior to commencing the tour.
Among other engagements, Sheikh Mohamed also met Wei Yingbiao, Board Member and President of the Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC), discussing the Dubai Airshow's role in fostering connections among global industry leaders while showcasing advanced systems.
Accompanied by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan, and other senior officials, Sheikh Mohamed’s visit underscored a significant day at one of the leading aerospace exhibitions globally.
