President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan welcomed His Excellency Sheikh Fahad Yousef Saud Al Sabah, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior of Kuwait, at Qasr Al Bahr in Abu Dhabi. The meeting reflected the strong and historic friendship between the United Arab Emirates and the State of Kuwait, two nations closely connected through shared values and long-standing cooperation.
During the meeting, Sheikh Fahad delivered the warm greetings of His Highness Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, the Emir of Kuwait. He also conveyed the Emir’s best wishes for the UAE’s continued success, progress, and stability. The Emir of Kuwait sent a special message of appreciation to the UAE President for a recent initiative that highlighted the deep relationship between both nations.
Sheikh Fahad shared the Emir of Kuwait’s gratitude for the UAE’s gesture to celebrate the historic ties between the two countries. This initiative, which began on 29 January, symbolized the long friendship between the people of the UAE and Kuwait. The Emir described this act as a meaningful reminder of the trust, respect, and cooperation that have always connected the two nations.
In return, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed asked Sheikh Fahad to convey his own warm greetings to the Emir of Kuwait. He wished the Kuwaiti leadership and its people continuous growth, prosperity, and stability. Sheikh Mohamed also reaffirmed the UAE’s commitment to strengthening ties across all areas for the benefit of both nations.
The meeting included discussions on the strong and bilateral relations between the UAE and Kuwait. Both sides discussed ways to expand cooperation in areas such as development, security, economy, and culture. The leaders stressed that close coordination supports the shared goals of progress and stability for both countries.
Another important topic in the talks was the need to strengthen GCC cooperation. Both leaders emphasized the importance of unity among Gulf countries to protect regional stability and support the ambitions of their people. They agreed that joint efforts within the GCC framework are essential for continued development, security, and prosperity.
The meeting was attended by several sheikhs and senior officials from the UAE, highlighting the importance of the visit and the strong diplomatic ties between the two nations. Their presence also reflected the commitment of both governments to ongoing dialogue, coordination, and partnership.
The UAE and Kuwait share decades of close friendship and mutual respect. Both nations continue to work together to support regional peace, economic development, and cooperation across various sectors.
