President Sheikh Mohamed has been invited to attend the G7 Summit in Canada, which will take place from June 15 to 17 in Kananaskis, Alberta. The invitation was sent by Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney, as reported by the UAE’s state news agency WAM on Wednesday.

According to WAM, this invitation shows the strong global respect the UAE has earned and highlights its important role in supporting international cooperation. It also reflects the country’s ongoing efforts to boost global economic stability and work together with others on key challenges like energy security, advanced technology, and artificial intelligence (AI).

The G7 includes Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the UK, and the US. During the summit, leaders are expected to discuss important global topics such as peace and security, economic strength, and the impact of AI.

The UAE has made major contributions to peace efforts around the world. It has helped mediate prisoner swaps between Russia and Ukraine and has repeatedly called for a permanent ceasefire in Gaza.

The country is also seen as a world leader in encouraging the safe and responsible use of AI technologies.

President Sheikh Mohamed also attended the G7 Summit in Italy last year, after receiving an invitation from Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni for the expanded meeting of world leaders.
