SpaceX Aims for 10,000 Annual Rocket Launches by 2031

SpaceX Aims for 10,000 Annual Rocket Launches by 2031

Post by : Bianca Haleem

SpaceX has set its sights on executing an impressive 10,000 rocket launches each year by 2031, as reported by the head of the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

FAA Administrator Bryan Bedford disclosed after a meeting with Gwynne Shotwell that the company has laid out an ambitious long-term plan to expand its launch capabilities significantly.

During a public forum, Bedford indicated that the FAA does not consider regulations to be a significant hurdle to increasing launch frequencies in the US.

This news comes as SpaceX has submitted its S-1 prospectus to the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), gearing up for what could be one of the largest IPOs in history.

This filing is notable as it's the first time in its 24-year journey that SpaceX has made detailed financial data available to the public.

According to their filing, the company earned $18.7 billion in revenue in 2025, although it also reported an operating loss of $2.6 billion as it continues to invest heavily in next-gen rocket technologies and AI initiatives.

While SpaceX hasn't confirmed how much funding it aims to obtain through the IPO or its anticipated market valuation, reports suggest that it could aim for nearly $75 billion, potentially valuing the company at $1.75 trillion.

These bold expansion strategies underline SpaceX's increasing focus on large-scale space transport, satellite launches, and cutting-edge aerospace innovations.
