20 Injured in Telangana Bus Overturn on Hyderabad-Guntur Route

20 Injured in Telangana Bus Overturn on Hyderabad-Guntur Route

Post by : Raina Al-Fahim

Following a devastating bus fire in Kurnool that resulted in 20 fatalities, Andhra Pradesh faced another incident as a private bus overturned on Saturday, injuring 20 individuals while en route from Hyderabad to Guntur. This rollover occurred on the Outer Ring Road (ORR) adjacent to Pedda Amberpet municipality in Telangana’s Ranga Reddy district.

Witness accounts indicate that the bus rolled onto its side after crashing into the guardrails, which buckled under the collision's force, emphasizing the severity of the incident. All 20 individuals on board sustained injuries and were promptly transported to a nearby medical facility for treatment. Police, ORR maintenance personnel, and local community members quickly responded to provide aid during the rescue efforts.

This accident follows closely on the heels of a luxury bus fire in Kurnool, which tragically took the lives of 20 passengers. Reports suggest that the previous incident involved a two-wheeler collision that may have led to the fire outbreak. A viral video has surfaced showing the motorcyclist behaving recklessly, likely under the influence, before the Kurnool tragedy occurred.

Officials have reiterated the critical need for road safety, particularly on busy highways and the ORR, where high speeds and unsafe driving have been implicated in numerous accidents. Investigations into the cause of the bus rollover are currently underway.

These sequential bus mishaps raise significant alarm about road safety in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, prompting authorities to call on drivers and passengers alike to remain vigilant on highways.
