Doha Prepares for 2026 “Match For Hope” Charity Football Event

Post by : Mariam Al-Faris

Doha is ready to welcome the third edition of the popular “Match For Hope” event on January 30, 2026. The match will take place at the iconic Ahmad Bin Ali World Cup Stadium. This exciting initiative brings together famous content creators and legendary football players to support education around the world.

Organized by Q Life to Support Education

The event is organized by Q Life, the cultural platform of the International Media Office. Its mission is to combine the influence of football and entertainment to make a positive impact. By raising funds through this high-profile event, Match For Hope helps provide quality education to children who are out of school.

Thrilling Final Match Between Champions

This year’s edition will feature a thrilling final match between two teams made up of celebrities and former football stars. Each team has previously won one of the first two editions. Fans can expect an exciting and competitive game as both teams compete for the championship title, bringing energy and passion to the field.

Successful Fundraising in Previous Editions

The 2024 and 2025 editions of Match For Hope successfully raised over USD 19.5 million in donations. Contributions came from generous donors, community members, and partners. These funds were directly channeled to the Education Above All Foundation (EAA), which uses them to support education projects for disadvantaged children in multiple countries.

Impact on Education Projects Globally

The money raised from Match For Hope helps provide access to quality education for children who might otherwise be out of school. EAA has used these funds to improve learning opportunities, provide teaching materials, and create safe educational spaces. The initiative shows how sports and entertainment can be a powerful tool to drive positive change.

Combining Sports and Entertainment for a Cause

The event successfully blends the excitement of football with the global reach of content creators and legendary players. This combination not only raises funds but also spreads awareness about the importance of education. By involving celebrities and athletes, Match For Hope inspires people worldwide to contribute and take action.

The first two editions of Match For Hope were held at prestigious FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 stadiums. These events captivated audiences, both in Qatar and globally, while raising significant funds for education. They have established a strong tradition of charity through sports, showing how football can unite communities for a common cause.

The 2026 edition builds on the success and legacy of the earlier matches. It aims to further harness the power of football and social media influence to create a meaningful impact. The event reinforces its commitment to supporting vulnerable children and providing them with opportunities for a brighter future through quality education.
