TRENDS Hosts Vatican Talk to Promote Peace and Harmony

Post by : Mariam Al-Faris

TRENDS Research and Advisory, via its virtual office in Italy, organised a dialogue session at the Vatican with Monsignor Dr. Yoannis Lahzi Gaid, member of the Vatican Secretariat of State in the Section for General Affairs.

The session focused on the importance of interfaith dialogue in promoting peace, tolerance, and coexistence, highlighting its role in advancing global harmony among communities.

Panel Discussion on Research and Cooperation

Alongside the Vatican session, the TRENDS team held a panel discussion with Professor Raffaele Marchetti, Director of the Centre for International and Strategic Studies (CISS) at Luiss University in Italy.

The discussion brought together experts and researchers to focus on strengthening research cooperation, sharing expertise in economic studies and artificial intelligence, organising annual scientific forums, and fostering training opportunities for young researchers.

CEO Highlights Importance of Interfaith Dialogue

Dr. Mohammed Abdullah Al Ali, CEO of TRENDS, emphasised that the dialogue at the Vatican reinforced the need to promote interfaith dialogue and peaceful coexistence.

He highlighted that all divine religions call for compassion, tolerance, and acceptance of others, and that such dialogue is essential for addressing modern global challenges.

Focus Areas of Cooperation

The talks also explored key areas including economic and foresight studies, AI research, strategic analysis, training programmes, and launching joint research initiatives.

The aim is to enhance integration of diverse research methodologies to address both regional and international issues, while promoting practical and impactful solutions.

Monsignor Gaid Praises TRENDS’ Role

Monsignor Dr. Gaid praised TRENDS for its pioneering intellectual role amid global challenges.

He described the dialogue as evidence that interfaith discussion is not a luxury but an urgent human necessity, essential for peaceful coexistence and human solidarity worldwide.

Think Tanks as Pillars of Global Peace

The session highlighted the role of think tanks in reinforcing moderation, developing practical strategies to spread peace, and strengthening global solidarity through interfaith dialogue.

These efforts are seen as vital for achieving sustainable development and shared prosperity across nations.

Future Research and Collaboration Plans

Professor Marchetti noted that TRENDS is among the most influential research institutions dedicated to advancing knowledge and promoting scholarly dialogue.

He added that they plan to establish practical frameworks for cooperation, including joint studies, sharing expertise, and organising conferences, to support both academic growth and social harmony.

The Vatican dialogue organised by TRENDS Research underscores the importance of interfaith collaboration, research integration, and knowledge sharing in promoting peace, tolerance, and coexistence globally.

Through strategic partnerships, TRENDS aims to enhance understanding, strengthen international cooperation, and contribute to a more harmonious and sustainable world.
