Dubai Metro Launches Tribute to UAE Founding Figures

Dubai Metro Launches Tribute to UAE Founding Figures

Post by : Bianca Haleem

The Red Line of Dubai Metro transformed into a vibrant display of national appreciation as Brand Dubai, a division of the Government of Dubai Media Office, unveiled a compelling tribute to the UAE’s Founding Fathers. This initiative stretches from Centrepoint station to Expo 2020 station, captivating countless daily commuters and visitors.

The installation showcases images of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan alongside the late Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum, paired with verses from ‘The People and the Leader’ — a heartfelt poem composed by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. Launched as part of Dubai’s ‘National Month’ celebrations, it is a key feature of the second phase of the #ZayedAndRashid campaign.

In partnership with Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), the visuals seamlessly integrate into one of Dubai’s iconic markers of urban transit. The Red Line trains now serve as a reminder of the leadership principles that propelled the nation’s growth, in line with RTA’s mission to promote national identity throughout the public transport system.

This initiative embodies the unity and collaboration that marked the inception of the Union. For many, the display presents a moment of reflection amid their busy routines, bridging Dubai’s vibrant present with its rich history.

The metro tribute is part of a larger series of National Month events across Dubai, which include the engaging Flag Garden at Umm Suqeim Beach, striking artwork on the DIFC’s Gate Building, and various cultural and community activities leading up to 2 December.

By merging creativity, heritage, and community involvement, the tribute along Dubai Metro enriches the city’s National Month celebrations, transforming routine commutes into a reminder of the UAE’s lasting national narrative.
