On November 21, 2025, former US President Donald Trump reignited his feud with late-night host Jimmy Kimmel through a pointed social media remark on Truth Social. He labeled Kimmel as “talentless with dismal ratings” and insisted he should be taken off the air following the East Coast airing of Jimmy Kimmel Live.
This isn’t Trump’s first public dig at Kimmel; their rivalry spans several years. Trump has frequently weighed in on Kimmel’s content, while Kimmel has consistently mocked Trump’s policies and headlines during his shows.
In response to Trump’s latest jab, Kimmel showcased his humor on Thursday night, emphasizing the President's low approval ratings. He quipped, “Hi, Mr. President, thanks for staying tuned instead of catching us online… frankly, viewers like you keep us afloat!”
Kimmel did not shy away from poking fun at Trump’s prior antics, including a temporary suspension of his show in September after Kimmel commented on the assassination of right-wing commentator Charlie Kirk. Trump had mocked Kimmel's situation, labeling him “ratings-challenged” and applauding the network, although the suspension was quickly overturned following public outcry.
In his monologue, Kimmel humorously referenced Trump’s recent confrontation with a Bloomberg reporter about Epstein's files, alluding to Trump’s “quiet, Piggy” remarks. He joked, “We can be partners. Let’s ride into the sunset together… until then, be quiet, Piggy!” He concluded with a light-hearted statement towards Trump: “I’ll step away when you do,” indicating no plans of relinquishing his hosting role.
With Kimmel’s contract ending this season, his plans for the future remain uncertain. This ongoing feud continues to capture attention, especially as social media magnifies their exchanges.
This incident underscores the persistent tension between Trump and Kimmel, illuminating the blend of politics, entertainment, and media dynamics in American culture.
