Dubai: Two residents were injured after debris from intercepted drones fell into the courtyards of separate homes in Dubai, authorities confirmed on Saturday.
In a statement, the Government of Dubai Media Office said air defence systems successfully neutralised the aerial threats before they could reach their intended targets. The loud sounds reported across parts of the emirate were linked to these interception operations.
Fragments from the destroyed drones landed within residential properties, causing minor injuries to two individuals. Officials stated that emergency services responded without delay, and both injured residents were provided with necessary medical treatment. Their conditions have been described as stable.
Authorities moved quickly to secure the impacted areas and assess any structural damage. Residents have been urged to avoid approaching unidentified debris and to immediately report any suspicious objects to authorities.
Officials reiterated that the interception systems operated effectively, preventing wider harm. The situation remains under close monitoring, with residents advised to rely on official channels for verified updates.
