The Cyber Security Council of the UAE has joined forces with QuantumGate to introduce a national Crypto Discovery Tool (CDT), specifically engineered in Abu Dhabi to facilitate the nation’s move towards quantum-safe cybersecurity.
Developed in alignment with the UAE National Cryptography Center, this tool is an essential component of the country’s cybersecurity strategy. Its primary objective is to empower organizations to brace for impending quantum computing challenges by enhancing their oversight and management of cryptographic systems.
The CDT functions by automatically detecting and mapping cryptographic assets across various digital landscapes. It generates a thorough inventory of encryption technologies employed by organizations, enabling them to pinpoint vulnerabilities and shortcomings within their security frameworks. This capability allows enterprises to manage cryptography-related risks more efficiently and strategize a methodical transition to post-quantum encryption.
Officials highlighted that this system is especially crucial for critical national infrastructure, which requires robust and future-proof security measures.
Dr. Mohamed Al-Kuwaiti, the UAE Government’s Cyber Security Chief, remarked that this collaboration represents a significant advancement in bolstering the UAE’s cybersecurity framework. He emphasized that having national tools for the discovery and management of cryptography across various sectors is vital for ensuring a safe shift to post-quantum cryptography.
QuantumGate's CEO, Dr. Najwa Aaraj, mentioned that the tool provides organizations with complete insight into their cryptographic vulnerabilities, allowing them to act proactively and transition confidently before quantum threats become a reality.
Moreover, the CDT incorporates continuous monitoring functionalities, facilitating real-time vigilance over cryptographic assets. This feature ensures that organizations remain compliant, audit-ready, and secure as standards evolve. Its compliance framework is modular and can be modified with the issuance of new guidelines by the UAE Cyber Security Council.
As part of the UAE National Post-Quantum Migration Program, the CDT is designed to assist both public and private sectors in planning and executing a seamless transition to quantum-resistant encryption protocols.
The tool will also interface with the UAE’s larger cybersecurity environment via the National Cybersecurity Index platform, contributing data to a national Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC) Index, thereby providing authorities with a comprehensive overview of the nation’s cryptographic security status.
Such integration is expected to enhance nationwide surveillance, improve readiness assessments, and facilitate superior decision-making processes.
The rollout of the CDT signals the next step in the partnership between the UAE Cyber Security Council and QuantumGate, fortifying the country’s role as a leader in quantum-safe cybersecurity advancements.
