The United Arab Emirates has carried out a medical evacuation flight from the Gaza Strip to provide urgent treatment for patients and injured civilians. This flight included 155 patients and their family members. The operation took place from Ramon Airport in Israel via the Karam Abu Salem crossing. Since the start of the humanitarian crisis, the UAE has successfully evacuated 2,785 patients and family members to ensure they receive proper medical care.
Support Under Leadership Guidance
These medical evacuation efforts are carried out under the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The UAE’s plan aims to provide treatment for 1,000 Palestinian children and 1,000 cancer patients in hospitals across the nation. This reflects the UAE’s strong and continuous commitment to alleviating the suffering of civilians in Gaza and mitigating the severe effects of the ongoing crisis.
Humanitarian Commitment To Palestinians
Sultan Mohammed Al Shamsi, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Development and International Organisations and Vice Chairman of the UAE Aid Agency, highlighted the UAE’s dedication to a rapid humanitarian response. The country focuses on providing urgent transport and treatment for patients and injured civilians from Gaza. These actions demonstrate the UAE’s unwavering support for the Palestinian people, reflecting a deep humanitarian commitment without exception.
Transportation Of Critical Patients
Medical teams from the UAE have transported critically wounded patients to hospitals in Abu Dhabi. Other patients and their family members are accommodated at the Emirates Humanitarian City, where they receive medical care under the supervision of specialised teams. This ensures that both urgent medical needs and ongoing care are addressed effectively.
Comprehensive Medical And Social Support
In addition to treatment, the UAE provides various forms of support to patients and their families. This includes medical assistance, educational support, and cultural programs designed to help alleviate the impact of the humanitarian crisis. These services are particularly focused on children, women, the elderly, and injured civilians, ensuring that those most affected receive comprehensive care.
Cooperation With International Partners
The UAE works closely with the World Health Organisation (WHO), the United Nations, and other international partners to enhance the effectiveness of its humanitarian aid. These collaborations ensure that medical services, medications, and essential equipment are delivered efficiently. The UAE hospital ship anchored at Al-Arish Port in Egypt and the field hospital in southern Gaza are key parts of this coordinated effort.
Continuous Medical Evacuation Flights
Medical evacuation flights are part of a comprehensive and urgent humanitarian response plan. These flights aim to reduce suffering, provide life-saving medical care, and ensure patients reach facilities capable of handling serious health conditions. Continuous evacuation operations demonstrate the UAE’s commitment to maintaining rapid and effective humanitarian assistance during crises.
Impact On Children And Vulnerable Groups
Special attention is given to children and vulnerable populations affected by the crisis in Gaza. Many children require urgent medical care, and the UAE ensures their transportation to hospitals equipped to meet their needs. By prioritising vulnerable groups, the UAE aims to prevent further deterioration of health conditions and provide essential support to those who need it most.
Educational And Cultural Support
Beyond medical assistance, the UAE offers educational and cultural support for patients and families. These programs help children continue their learning, maintain emotional stability, and adapt to treatment environments. Providing such support ensures a more holistic approach to humanitarian aid, addressing both physical and psychological needs of affected populations.
Role Of UAE Field Hospitals And Hospital Ships
The UAE has deployed field hospitals in southern Gaza and operates a hospital ship at Al-Arish Port to provide immediate medical attention. These facilities are equipped with medicines, advanced medical equipment, and specialised personnel to treat patients with serious injuries and critical health conditions. Such infrastructure plays a vital role in complementing the medical evacuation efforts.
Demonstrating Global Humanitarian Leadership
The UAE’s initiatives reflect global leadership in humanitarian aid. By coordinating with international organisations and providing prompt and effective assistance, the UAE sets an example for rapid response to crises. Its continuous medical evacuation and comprehensive support programs reinforce the nation’s reputation as a key partner in global humanitarian efforts.
Ensuring Long-Term Support And Care
The UAE’s approach is not limited to immediate evacuation and treatment. Patients and families are provided with long-term care, medical supervision, and necessary facilities to recover fully. This demonstrates a commitment to sustainable humanitarian aid, ensuring that support extends beyond the initial rescue or treatment.
Mitigating The Effects Of The Gaza Crisis
The ongoing crisis in Gaza has caused severe humanitarian suffering. The UAE’s medical evacuation flights and associated programs help mitigate the effects of the conflict by providing safe transport, medical care, and emotional support. This reduces the burden on local hospitals and ensures that patients can access specialized treatment that may not be available locally.
The UAE continues to lead humanitarian efforts to support Palestinians affected by the crisis in Gaza. Through medical evacuation flights, field hospitals, hospital ships, and comprehensive care programs, the UAE provides urgent medical treatment, education, and cultural support to those in need. These efforts, carried out under the directives of President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, demonstrate the nation’s strong humanitarian commitment, global leadership, and unwavering support for the people of Gaza during this difficult time.
