The United Arab Emirates (UAE) launched a special report about future world goals called the 2045 Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Report. The event was held at the United Nations (UN) Headquarters in New York. The UAE also shared the results of a world survey on these future goals. This shows the UAE’s strong role in working with other countries and sharing knowledge for a better future.

Important Leaders Attended the Event

The event was led by Abdulla Nasser Lootah, a UAE minister in charge of sharing knowledge and promoting global cooperation. Many important leaders from different countries also attended. They included ministers, UN representatives, and other top officials from countries like Eswatini, Paraguay, Brunei, and Ethiopia, along with leaders from UN Women and UNESCO.

The Report Was Based on Global Events and Talks

The UAE prepared the report using ideas and talks from big events like the World Government Summit 2025 and Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week 2025. The report also included results from a worldwide survey about the future of sustainable development goals.

UAE Led a World Survey on Future Goals

The UAE organized a study with people from 55 countries. These people were from different ages and education levels. The study was part of a UN event called the High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development. The goal was to learn what people around the world think about future global goals.

Report Title and Main Ideas

The report is called “Envisioning 2045: Comprehensive Pathways to Sustainable Development.” It suggests important steps like:

  • Changing the global goals for the future

  • Getting countries and people ready for new challenges

  • Working together worldwide

  • Making a strong plan for future development

The report says future goals must be flexible, smart, and ready for unexpected problems.

Clear Roadmap for Working Together

The report gives a clear plan for how governments, businesses, and global organizations can work together.

  • Governments should think about the future when making laws and plans.

  • Businesses should help by using new technology and responsible ideas.

  • Global groups should make sure everyone can be part of future development, especially women, youth, and people in need.

UAE’s Special Program Since 2016

Since 2016, the UAE has been running a program called “SDGs in Action” through the World Government Summit. This program shows the UAE’s long-time support for achieving world development goals.

Helping the World Reach Goals Faster

The UAE wants the world to reach the current goals faster. At the High-Level Political Forum, the UAE focused on five key global goals:

  1. Good health for all (Goal 3)

  2. Gender equality (Goal 5)

  3. Good jobs and strong economy (Goal 8)

  4. Protecting oceans and water (Goal 14)

  5. Global partnerships (Goal 17)

The UAE believes in using innovation, teamwork, and smart plans to reach these goals.

The UAE’s Vision for the Next 20 Years

Abdulla Nasser Lootah said this report is a big step for planning the next 20 years. He explained that the UAE’s plan is to think ahead, make partnerships, and create new ideas based on science and facts.

The UAE wants all countries to agree early on the 2045 goals, learning from past experiences with the 2030 goals, to build a better future for everyone.

UN Will Discuss Post-2030 Goals in 2027

The United Nations will officially start talks about new goals after 2030 in the year 2027. But the UAE has already begun discussing these future goals since 2023 through its “SDGs in Action” forum. So far, more than 170 world leaders have taken part in these talks.

Big Results from the Global Study

The world survey showed that people want big changes in how global goals are made:

  • 94.7% want progress to mean more than just money and numbers.

  • 85.4% think people should help make decisions on world goals.

  • 70% want businesses and communities to help, not just governments.

  • 67.8% want flexible goals that fit different countries and regions.

  • 64.9% believe new technologies like AI will shape the future more than old ways.
