His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), arrived today in Tirana, the capital of Albania, for an important working visit. He was welcomed at Tirana International Airport by Prime Minister Edi Rama, alongside senior ministers and officials from both countries. This warm reception highlighted the importance Albania places on its growing relationship with the UAE.

Meeting at Kryeministria: Building New Partnerships

Following the arrival ceremony, Sheikh Mohamed and his delegation traveled to the Prime Minister’s Office (known locally as Kryeministria) for talks with Prime Minister Rama. During a meeting in the office’s grand reception hall, the two leaders discussed the many ways their countries are already working together, and how they can deepen cooperation to benefit their nations and citizens.

Prime Minister Rama welcomed Sheikh Mohamed with open arms and expressed strong optimism that the visit would create new opportunities across several important sectors. He stressed that Albania values the UAE as a key strategic partner in moving forward economically and socially.

Topics of Discussion: Strengthening Ties

The talks covered a wide range of priority areas where the UAE and Albania see great potential for joint progress:

Economy and Trade:
They explored how Albanian products could reach Gulf markets and UAE investments could help build infrastructure and businesses in Albania.

Both leaders emphasized the role of clean energy—especially solar and wind—in reducing carbon emissions and strengthening energy security.

Food Security:
Discussions included ways to improve agricultural production, logistics, and food storage to ensure reliable and healthy food supplies for both countries.

Technology:
They talked about cooperation in digital services, smart city solutions, and innovation, seeing tech as a key driver of future growth.
