The United Arab Emirates, led by Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, participated in the 43rd session of the Council of Arab Interior Ministers, which was held virtually with the presence of key regional leaders and security officials.
The session brought together Interior Ministers from various Arab nations, along with representatives from the League of Arab States, Naif Arab University for Security Sciences, and the Arab Police Sports Federation, alongside senior security delegations.
In his address, Sheikh Saif highlighted the growing security challenges facing the region, pointing to escalating tensions and recent attacks impacting Gulf countries and allied nations. He stressed the importance of unity and preparedness in addressing such threats.
He reaffirmed that the UAE remains secure under the leadership of Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, citing the readiness of the Armed Forces, strong community cohesion, and robust international partnerships as key pillars of national stability.
Emphasising regional cooperation, Sheikh Saif noted that the UAE stands ready to extend full support to fellow Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries during times of crisis. He described this commitment as rooted in shared destiny and brotherhood among Gulf nations.
He further underscored the UAE leadership’s balanced and wise approach to maintaining security while avoiding further escalation in the region. According to him, safeguarding sovereignty and stability remains a top national priority.
In a solemn conclusion, Sheikh Saif extended condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in recent attacks and wished a swift recovery to the injured, while praying for continued peace and stability across the region.
The session also reviewed several key agenda items, including the General Secretariat’s report covering activities between the 42nd and 43rd sessions, as well as updates from Naif Arab University for Security Sciences.
Additionally, participants discussed the second phase of the updated Arab strategy to combat terrorism, along with recommendations from recent regional conferences and joint meetings with international organisations.
The meeting concluded with a renewed commitment to strengthening collective security efforts and enhancing cooperation among Arab nations to address evolving regional challenges.
