The UAE has made a pioneering move in revolutionizing government operations through cutting-edge artificial intelligence during the recent National Agentic AI Retreat in Abu Dhabi, attended by His Highness Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
This retreat, organized under the guidance of His Highness Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, gathered over 400 ministers, senior officials, and media figures to chart the course for AI-driven governance in the country.
Accompanying HH Sheikh Mohammed were His Highness Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan and His Highness Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
During the session, the UAE Government unveiled ambitious plans to implement Agentic AI models within governmental services. The objective is to digitize 50% of these services within the following two years, bolstering the UAE’s status as a global frontrunner in AI and digital governance.
HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid emphasized that the UAE aims to serve as a model for future governments where technology enhances citizens' lives and enriches public services.
A highlight of the retreat was the introduction of the first cohort of UAE Government AI Agents, which includes four specialized systems powered by Agentic AI:
The Procurement AI Agent aims to streamline sourcing processes and enhance operational effectiveness across various government departments.
The Tax Auditing AI Agent is set to improve tax assessment and data verification, ensuring better compliance while shortening audit durations.
With the Customer Happiness AI Agent, service teams can quickly retrieve information, providing swifter and more effective assistance to the public.
Additionally, the Technical Support AI Agent will aid IT teams in swiftly resolving system issues, ensuring uninterrupted digital operations.
The event also included targeted workshops focused on the future of Agentic AI in various sectors, alongside the graduation of the sixth cohort of the Federal Artificial Intelligence Programme.
His Excellency Sultan Al Jaber discussed the AI evolution at ADNOC and announced the launch of ENERGYai, a platform connecting smart AI agents within the energy sector.
He disclosed that ADNOC is currently leveraging over 115 AI agents across essential divisions such as HR and finance, with around 20,000 employees trained to utilize AI tools, resulting in more than 3,000 operational AI models.
His Excellency Omar Sultan Al Olama highlighted that Agentic AI is transforming governmental operations by empowering autonomous systems that can think, plan, and execute tasks independently.
He cautioned that countries that embrace AI early will secure a competitive edge in the global market, while those lagging behind may struggle in technological advancement.
The retreat also featured insights from Luukas Ilves, who elucidated how Agentic AI is reshaping governance worldwide and underscored the necessity for redesigning government frameworks to spearhead technological innovation.
