UAE Collects Seven Medals at West Asia Archery Championship 2025

Post by : Raina Al-Fahim

The UAE national archery squad finished strongly at the 2nd West Asia Archery Championship 2025 in Doha, Qatar, earning seven medals — three golds, two silvers and two bronzes — and placing second in the final team standings.

The UAE Archery Federation said the Doha event featured notable performances from both the men's and women's teams, with athletes representing the country with distinction.

The national delegation returned to the UAE last night and was greeted at Sharjah Airport by federation Vice President Humaid Sabet Al Shamsi and Secretary-General Hind Al Hosani.

The women's compound trio — Mitha Mohammed Al Nuaimi, Amina Yousef Al Awadhi and Jumana Ali Al Najjar — won gold, as did the men's recurve team of Ali Yaqoub Rangeri, Mansour Saeed Al Ketbi and Sib Sankar Maity.

The mixed recurve pair of Samiya Odinaeva and Sib Sankar Maity added a further gold, reinforcing the UAE's growing regional strength in archery.

Mohammed Saleh bin Amro and Amina Yousef Al Awadhi took silver in mixed compound, with Amina also earning silver in the women's individual compound — establishing her as a standout competitor.

The men's compound team — Mohammed Saleh bin Amro, Yousef Hassan Al Hosani and Shihab Ahmed Al Saadi — captured a bronze in the team event.

Hanadi Khalifa Al Kabouri, president of the UAE Archery Federation, described the results as a milestone in the country's sporting development, saying they reflect the federation's strategy to build world-class athletes and raise the UAE's profile in archery.

She said: "This achievement demonstrates the steady progress of our national teams and the commitment of our athletes to represent the UAE with pride and excellence."

The federation said the performance will help maintain momentum as it seeks to strengthen UAE presence internationally and inspire the next generation of archers.
