Abdullah Jassim Al Shamsi officially presented his credentials as the UAE Ambassador to the Republic of Guinea-Bissau to President Umaro Sissoco Embaló. The ceremony took place at the Presidential Palace in Bissau, marking a significant step in strengthening diplomatic ties between the two nations.
During the meeting, the ambassador and the president discussed avenues to enhance cooperation across political, economic, and cultural sectors. Both sides highlighted the importance of deepening mutual understanding and exploring new opportunities for collaboration.
Al Shamsi conveyed greetings from President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President and Prime Minister His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and Vice President His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan. He also extended their wishes for progress and prosperity for Guinea-Bissau.
The ambassador expressed pride in representing the UAE in Guinea-Bissau and reaffirmed his commitment to enhancing relations across multiple sectors, including trade, education, culture, and development initiatives.
President Embaló reciprocated the greetings to the UAE leaders, wishing continued growth and development for the UAE government and its people. He praised the strong ties between Guinea-Bissau and the UAE and welcomed the ambassador’s mission.
The president emphasised Guinea-Bissau’s readiness to provide all necessary support to facilitate the ambassador’s work. He expressed confidence that Al Shamsi’s efforts would strengthen cooperation and create opportunities for mutual benefit.
Both parties agreed on the importance of continuing dialogue and fostering stronger diplomatic, economic, and cultural ties. The presentation of credentials not only formalised the ambassador’s role but also marked a new phase in bilateral relations between the UAE and Guinea-Bissau.
Al Shamsi’s appointment reflects the UAE’s commitment to expanding its global diplomatic presence and promoting cooperation with African nations. This move is expected to create new avenues for partnership, investment, and cultural exchange between the two countries.
