His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum personally recognized the honorees of the second iteration of the Zero Bureaucracy Award during a prestigious ceremony in the UAE. Senior leaders, ministers, and government officials were in attendance.
Dignitaries such as Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan marked their presence at the event.
Sheikh Mohammed commended government teams for embedding speed and simplicity into their daily operations. He emphasized the UAE government's commitment to a people-centric model that enhances public service while minimizing bureaucratic hurdles.
He also introduced the forthcoming phase of the Zero Bureaucracy Programme, titled “Zero Bureaucracy using Agentic AI.” This new initiative aims to leverage cutting-edge AI technologies to create a government framework that is smarter, quicker, and more efficient.
The Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure clinched the award for Best Government Team in Zero Bureaucracy for its innovative Maritime Transport Bundle, which streamlined procedures and boosted service efficacy across federal departments.
In the Digital Bureaucracy segment, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs received accolades for its One Time Digital Certification project. Recognition also went to the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security for its advanced Smart Customs System.
Emirates Post was acknowledged in the Impact on the Business Sector category for its National Logistics Network, enhancing efficiency and simplifying processes for businesses.
The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation triumphed in the AI in Zero Bureaucracy category with its AI-based Employment Contract Verification System.
Two projects were celebrated in the Making Life Easier category: the Federal Electricity and Water Authority for its Instant Approvals for New Areas initiative and the Recognition of Foreign Academic Qualifications project.
The Ministry of Climate Change and Environment was honored in the Community Engagement category for its services directed towards farmers and fishermen, enhancing transparency and public engagement.
In the Government to Government Services category, awards were distributed to the Ministry of Finance for its Smart Financial Governance Operations and to the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security for its One-Time Data Request initiative.
The Zero Bureaucracy Award was first introduced in 2024 to appreciate federal teams that significantly reduce bureaucratic barriers while delivering swift and efficient public services.
Initiated in November 2023, the Zero Bureaucracy Programme aims to enhance governmental efficiency, accelerate services, simplify procedures, and eliminate unnecessary processes for both citizens and businesses.
