The Zayed Charity Run is not just about a single race. This year, the event featured multiple categories to accommodate different groups of people. Alongside the 10 km competitive race, there was a 5 km family run that allowed parents and children to participate together. The event also included a 2.8 km race for People of Determination, highlighting the commitment to inclusivity and providing opportunities for everyone to take part. For the first time in the event’s history, a 2.8 km robot race was introduced, adding a modern and innovative touch to the run. This mix of races emphasized both athletic ability and community engagement.

The races were officially flagged off by prominent UAE and Chinese dignitaries. Among them were Hussain bin Ibrahim Al Hammadi, UAE Ambassador to China; Lt. Gen. (retired) Mohamed Helal Alkaabi, Chairman of the Higher Organising Committee of the Zayed Charity Run; and Aref Hamad Al Awani, General Secretary of the Abu Dhabi Sports Council. Several Chinese officials also attended, reflecting the international cooperation and friendship between the UAE and China. The presence of these officials highlighted the importance of the event in promoting sports, community involvement, and humanitarian causes.
Winners Share Their Joy
After his victory, Saif Alalawi expressed his excitement and pride at winning first place for the second time, following his previous success at the Abu Dhabi edition of the race. He emphasized that the event represents more than just a competition. “Participating in this race allows us to showcase our skills, represent the UAE internationally, and contribute to humanitarian efforts,” Alalawi said. His words reflected the broader mission of the Zayed Charity Run, which is to combine sports, community, and charity to make a positive impact.
