The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has successfully wrapped up its participation in the Beijing International Book Fair, marking an important cultural achievement.
The UAE’s pavilion, called the "United Arab Emirates House", was set up by the UAE Embassy in Beijing along with the Ministry of Culture. It gave visitors a colourful look at the country’s rich cultural and creative life and drew thousands of people interested in Emirati culture.
Hussain bin Ibrahim Al Hammadi, the UAE Ambassador to China, said the pavilion gave a clear picture of the UAE’s leadership in culture and knowledge. He added that the event helped strengthen ties between the UAE and China.
Al Hammadi also praised the pavilion for showing the UAE’s cultural variety and growth and for helping build stronger cultural connections with China.
A top Chinese official, Li Shulei, visited the UAE pavilion. He is a senior member of the Communist Party of China and leads the Publicity Department. His visit showed the strong cultural bond between the two countries.
During the visit, Li looked at different parts of the pavilion, explored books written by Emirati authors, and saw projects done together by the UAE and China. He appreciated the way everything was presented and organised.
This event is part of the UAE’s bigger goal to share its culture with the world and work more closely with other countries, especially in creative and knowledge-related fields.
The Beijing International Book Fair had over 1,700 exhibitors from 80 countries and showed more than 220,000 books. It hosted over 1,000 cultural events and attracted more than 300,000 visitors from 110 countries.
