The Nahr Al Hayat Fund, a healthcare initiative of the Emirates Red Crescent (ERC), organised a four-day medical camp for children with serious illnesses in the Union of the Comoros. The initiative was carried out in cooperation with the UAE Embassy in Moroni.
Location And Services Provided
The camp was set up in a village near the capital city of Moroni. It offered comprehensive medical examinations, healthcare services, and medications to dozens of children, helping address their urgent health needs and improve overall well-being.
UAE Embassy Support
The Fund’s management commended the UAE Embassy in Moroni for its vital support in ensuring the success of the medical camp. The Embassy helped facilitate logistics, coordination, and communication with local authorities, making the camp accessible to children in need.
Global Impact Of Nahr Al Hayat Fund
Since its launch two years ago, the Nahr Al Hayat Fund has provided medical treatment to nearly 2,500 children across seven countries. These countries include Jordan, Tanzania, Iraq, Yemen, Syria, Morocco, and the Union of the Comoros. The Fund has become a key player in improving access to healthcare for children in difficult situations.
Expanding Beneficiary Reach
The Fund has implemented a strategy to expand the number of children benefiting from its programs. This includes arranging and covering the costs of transferring children abroad for advanced medical treatment when local healthcare facilities are inadequate. Children continue to receive treatment locally if the necessary services are available in their home country.
Partnerships With Hospitals And Medical Teams
Nahr Al Hayat has established partnerships with highly specialised hospitals and medical teams. These partnerships create a strong network of expert care providers, involving volunteer medical staff to ensure that children receive high-quality treatment. The initiative aims to provide a better future for children worldwide.
Commitment To Child Healthcare
The Emirates Red Crescent’s Nahr Al Hayat Fund continues to demonstrate the UAE’s commitment to child healthcare and humanitarian aid. By offering free treatment and medical support in multiple countries, the Fund addresses serious health challenges faced by children in underserved regions.
Focus On Sustainable Healthcare Solutions
The Fund also focuses on creating sustainable healthcare solutions. By training local medical personnel and establishing long-term partnerships, it ensures that children continue to have access to essential care even after the camps conclude.
Future Plans And Expansion
The Nahr Al Hayat Fund plans to expand its operations to additional countries and reach more children in need. The Fund will continue to provide medical care, facilitate treatments abroad when necessary, and strengthen its network of specialised hospitals and volunteer teams.
Through initiatives like the Comoros medical camp, the UAE’s Nahr Al Hayat Fund reinforces its commitment to global child healthcare. By offering comprehensive medical services, building partnerships, and expanding reach, the Fund aims to create lasting impact and ensure a healthier future for children worldwide.
