The United States carried out its seventh consecutive night of military strikes on Iran after President Donald Trump declared the temporary ceasefire agreement had ended. According to US Central Command (Centcom), the operation targeted surveillance sites, military logistics infrastructure, underground weapons storage facilities, and maritime capabilities. Iran claimed it responded by attacking US allies in the Gulf, while shipping through the Strait of Hormuz remained heavily disrupted.
The United States military carried out its seventh straight night of strikes on Iran after President Donald Trump announced that the temporary ceasefire agreement was "over."
In a statement posted on X, US Central Command (Centcom) said its forces targeted surveillance sites, military logistics infrastructure, underground weapons storage facilities, and maritime capabilities across Iran.
Centcom stated that the military operation concluded at 21:30 ET (02:30 BST) after several hours of action.
According to the command, the operation involved fighter aircraft, aerial drones, warships, and other military assets.
Iran said it responded by launching attacks against US allies in the region, including Kuwait.

Kuwait's military announced that its air defence systems had been "confronting hostile missile and drone attacks" following what it described as "Iranian aggression."
Jordan's military also reported intercepting 10 Iranian missiles that entered its airspace overnight. Authorities said no damage was reported from the interceptions.
Iran's state-run Fars news agency reported that two oil tankers exploded and caught fire while travelling through what it described as a mined route south of the Strait of Hormuz.
Centcom later rejected the claim, posting on X: "Like most IRGC claims, this is false."
The Strait of Hormuz continues to face major disruption, with shipping traffic largely halted as military exchanges between the United States and Iran continue.
The strategic waterway normally carries around one-fifth of the world's oil and liquefied natural gas supplies, making the ongoing conflict a major concern for global energy transport.
Iranian state media reported explosions in the central city of Yazd, as well as on Qeshm Island and at the port of Bandar Abbas, located near the Strait of Hormuz.
The reports came as military activity intensified across the region.
On Friday, Iran's armed forces claimed they had attacked several US military facilities across the Gulf region, including locations in Kuwait, Bahrain, Jordan, and, for the first time, Syria.
The United States denied those claims.
Earlier, Kuwaiti officials said Iranian drone attacks had injured several soldiers and damaged a power plant along with water desalination stations.
Meanwhile, sources familiar with the matter said several American service members were injured during Iranian attacks on two military bases in Jordan over the past week.
Washington also denied Iranian allegations that US forces had targeted civilian infrastructure, including bridges, a train station, and an airport.
Provincial authorities in Hormozgan province said seven people were killed in the reported attacks.
Independent verification confirmed footage showing damage to Gariveh Bridge. Night-time videos showed flames on the bridge, while daylight images revealed a collapsed section of the road and scattered rubble.
A White House spokesperson said the United States had "carried out strikes exclusively on military targets, including military logistics infrastructure."
Friday marked one week of nightly US military strikes since peace talks with Iran broke down.
The continuing military exchanges and tensions surrounding the Strait of Hormuz have complicated efforts to reach a permanent ceasefire.
