Maritime security centers support the monitoring of sea conditions, information sharing and coordination among relevant agencies. These functions are important for responding to emergencies and helping maintain safe navigation in waters under national responsibility. The official report highlighted the center's role in carrying out these duties in coordination with other authorities.
The visit brought US congressional representatives and Omani maritime officials together for an exchange of information about maritime security operations. However, the official report did not announce a new agreement, joint initiative or specific policy decision arising from the visit.
