VTEX Collaborates with Dubai CommerCity to Enhance E-Commerce in UAE

Post by : Bianca Haleem

Dubai CommerCity (DCC), the UAE’s leading digital commerce free zone, has entered into a significant partnership with VTEX, a renowned enterprise digital commerce platform that has been recognized as a Customer’s Choice® by Gartner for two years in a row. This collaboration is set to catalyze the growth of digital commerce within the UAE and the broader GCC region, providing brands, retailers, and startups with cutting-edge technologies, AI tools, and easier access to both regional and global markets.

The partnership was officially signed by Amna Lootah, Director General of Dubai CommerCity, and Santiago Naranjo, Chief Revenue Officer at VTEX, in the presence of other key officials from both organizations.

The timing of this collaboration is vital as the UAE's digital economy, projected to reach AED 32.3 billion (US$8.8 billion) in 2024, is anticipated to exceed AED 50.6 billion (US$13.8 billion) by 2029. This aligns perfectly with the UAE Digital Economy Strategy, which aims to double the digital sector's contribution to the GDP and solidify Dubai's status as a global technology key player.

VTEX Launches Middle East Hub at Dubai CommerCity

As a pivotal part of the agreement, VTEX has opened its inaugural Middle East regional hub within Dubai CommerCity. This hub utilizes the free zone’s advanced infrastructure to boost operational efficiency, accelerate market entry, and drive digital transformation for businesses of all scales. This strategic move allows VTEX to offer enterprise-grade commerce solutions to promising brands, SMEs, and startups through specially tailored programs that promote adoption and scalability.

Supporting Local Entrepreneurs and SMEs

A core objective of this partnership is to empower Emirati entrepreneurs and SMEs. VTEX and Dubai CommerCity have rolled out a regional initiative aimed at fostering innovation-led growth and enhancing the competitive edge of UAE businesses in both local and international markets.

The initiative will feature engaging masterclasses, dynamic webinars, and certification programs covering diverse topics such as e-commerce solution architecture, omnichannel strategies, composable storefronts, and marketplace approaches. Participants will obtain hands-on experience with AI commerce tools and valuable strategies for sustainable business scaling.

Insights for Intelligent Growth

Dubai CommerCity’s InsightsIQ platform, integrated within VTEX’s global commerce ecosystem, provides businesses with real-time analytics powered by AI. This allows for informed decision-making, operational optimization, and the discovery of new growth pathways, facilitating a measurable impact on the UAE's GDP.

This collaboration sets the stage for a vibrant digital commerce ecosystem that supports businesses to flourish in the fast-changing digital arena, while also bolstering the UAE’s forward-looking vision for innovation and economic diversification.
