The Zayed Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation (ZayedCHF) celebrated its 33rd anniversary on August 5, 2025. This foundation was created in 1992 by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, who was the founding father of the United Arab Emirates. The anniversary marks more than three decades of important and meaningful charitable work.
Since its beginning, the foundation has become a symbol of kindness and care. It has worked hard to help people around the world who are in need. The Zayed Foundation is now known globally for its humanitarian work and continues to grow stronger with each passing year.
Over AED2 Billion in Global Aid
In its 33 years of service, the foundation has given more than AED2 billion in aid. This support has reached more than 185 countries across the globe. The money and support go to people in need — including those suffering from poverty, natural disasters, wars, and health crises.
The Foundation's work has touched the lives of millions of people. From emergency relief to long-term development, the Zayed Foundation has always been there to lend a helping hand. This large amount of support shows the foundation’s strong commitment to helping others and making the world a better place.
UAE’s Strong Humanitarian Role
H.H. Sheikh Nahyan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who is the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Zayed Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation, shared some important thoughts on this occasion. He said the UAE continues to play a leading role in humanitarian and development work.
This leadership is possible because of the vision and guidance of the UAE President, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The country’s leaders support smart and innovative projects that help improve lives. These efforts also help the UAE gain great respect and recognition in the world for its charitable work.
The Legacy of Sheikh Zayed Lives On
Sheikh Nahyan bin Zayed also explained that the UAE’s strong position in global charity work is not new. It started many years ago with the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. Sheikh Zayed believed in helping people no matter where they lived or what background they came from.
He created a path of genuine humanitarian action that today’s leaders continue to follow. This tradition of kindness and giving has become part of the UAE’s identity. It has also helped shape the UAE into a role model for other countries when it comes to charity and support.
UAE Institutions Lead in Aid and Support
One of the main reasons behind the UAE’s success in this field is its specialised institutions. The Zayed Foundation is one of the top organisations in this area. It plays a big role in delivering help to people who really need it, in the right way and at the right time.
With careful planning and smart ideas, the Foundation ensures that help is not just given quickly but also helps people for the long term. Whether it is building schools, hospitals, or water systems — the foundation’s projects are designed to last and bring real change to people’s lives.
Focus on Education, Health, and Development
The Zayed Foundation works in many areas to help people. Some of the most important fields it focuses on are education, health, clean water, and social care. These areas are very important for people’s growth and stability.
By building schools and supporting learning, the foundation gives children and youth a better future. By improving healthcare and providing medicines, it helps people live healthier lives. Clean water projects help communities that face water shortages. Social care programs support families and individuals who are struggling.
All of this shows how the Zayed Foundation is not just helping for today but is building a better tomorrow.
Supporting the Most Vulnerable People
The main goal of the Zayed Foundation is to help the most vulnerable communities in the world. These are the people who are often forgotten or ignored — such as poor families, orphans, refugees, people in war zones, and those affected by natural disasters.
Through its work, the foundation brings hope and support to these people. The idea is not just to give temporary help, but to offer long-term support that improves their living conditions. The foundation believes in fairness, justice, and equal chances for all.
A Symbol of Solidarity and Tolerance
One of the key messages of the Zayed Foundation is solidarity and tolerance. Solidarity means standing together with others, especially in tough times. Tolerance means accepting and respecting different people and cultures.
By helping people from many different backgrounds and countries, the foundation spreads these values around the world. It shows that no matter where someone comes from, they deserve help and care. This helps bring peace and unity among nations and people.
A Role Model for the World
Thanks to the efforts of its leadership and institutions like the Zayed Foundation, the UAE has become a global role model in humanitarian work. Many other countries and organisations look up to the UAE’s way of giving and try to follow it.
The foundation’s success is not just measured by the money it spends, but by the lives it changes. Its work is a clear sign that kindness, vision, and leadership can go a long way in making the world a better place for all.
Looking to the Future with Hope
As the Zayed Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation enters its 34th year, its mission remains strong. With continued support from the UAE leadership and the people, the foundation will keep working to improve the lives of those who suffer.
There is still much to be done in the world, and the foundation is ready to face those challenges. It will keep focusing on building a world where no one is left behind, and where help reaches those who need it the most — with love, care, and dignity.
The Zayed Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation has completed 33 years of service. It has given more than AED2 billion in aid to people in over 185 countries. Guided by the vision of the UAE's late founding father and supported by current leaders, the foundation works in areas like education, health, and clean water. It aims to bring lasting change and continues to stand as a symbol of hope, tolerance, and unity for the world.
