Organised by the Abu Dhabi Jiu-Jitsu Pro (AJP) and supported by the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation, this championship runs from June 20th to 22nd. It's a major event for jiu-jitsu, offering athletes a chance to earn valuable ranking points that will help them qualify for future tournaments.
The event will bring together some of the best athletes in the sport, including Brazil's Bruno Borges, Jefferson Gouto, and Gabriela Pereira, as well as Russia's Anna Remeneva. There will also be plenty of emerging talent in different categories.
The competition will kick off on Friday, June 20th, with the Masters division for both men and women. On Saturday, June 21st, the Kids and Youth divisions will compete, and the tournament will finish on Sunday, June 22nd, with the Amateurs and Professionals categories. With intense competition expected, the event promises to be full of action.
The AJP confirmed that this championship is part of its recognised tournament series. Gold medallists will earn 1,000 ranking points, which will boost their positions in the AJP world rankings.
Rodrigo Valerio, Operations Director at AJP, said, "This championship is a major event in the AJP season. We’re proud of the international participation, reflecting the growing trust in Abu Dhabi’s jiu-jitsu scene. Our goal is to provide an excellent competitive environment to help athletes improve."
With continued support from the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation, AJP ensures a high standard of event organisation, solidifying Abu Dhabi’s position as a global jiu-jitsu hub and helping identify promising new athletes, especially in the youth divisions.
This year’s championship has the highest number of participants ever, showing the growing international confidence in events held in the UAE and the top-notch organisation of Abu Dhabi's sports events.
