In 2025, the United Arab Emirates made significant strides in its national housing programme, aimed at bolstering family stability and enhancing overall living conditions across the nation. The year saw the issuance of 3,567 housing approvals, amounting to AED2.546 billion, with about AED478 million allocated in the final quarter alone. Efforts included providing residential loans, government assistance for low-income families, and collaborative housing initiatives with national banks.
The Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure rolled out a fresh funding scheme for senior citizens, featuring insurance coverage until the age of 95, offering protection against death or total permanent disability.
In Abu Dhabi, agreements were reached to develop 13 residential communities worth AED106 billion, promising over 40,000 homes and land plots by 2029. Homeowners in this emirate were also granted new financial support mechanisms, including a community subsidy of AED250,000 to be deducted from housing loans of up to AED1.75 million, alongside extended repayment terms stretching up to 30 years. The total housing benefits disbursed in the emirate reached AED15.384 billion, aiding more than 10,700 residents.
Dubai announced housing endeavours worth AED5.4 billion, featuring the construction of 3,004 new homes. An extra AED2 billion was earmarked to build 1,100 units in areas such as Wadi Al-Amardi, Al Aweer, Hatta, and Oud Al Muteena. Additionally, the emirate kicked off an affordable housing programme tailored to deliver 17,000 units in its initial phase, targeting employees across essential strategic sectors.
Sharjah’s Executive Council granted land allocations to 3,500 recipients, split evenly between residential and investment plots.
These combined federal and local housing initiatives underscore the UAE’s dedication to fostering social stability alongside a thorough urban development strategy.
