The Abu Dhabi Festival, organized by the Abu Dhabi Music & Arts Foundation (ADMAF), will return in 2026 for its 23rd edition under the theme “The Wisdom of Culture.” The festival, held under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan and H.H. Sheikha Shamsa bint Hamdan Al Nahyan, emphasizes culture as a bridge connecting nations, promoting understanding, creativity, and innovation. The 2026 edition will showcase world-class classical music performances and international collaborations, while celebrating 50 years of diplomatic and cultural ties with the United States of America, the Country of Honour.
H.H. Sheikh Abdullah highlighted the festival’s role in cultural diplomacy and soft power since 2004, strengthening the UAE’s position as a global hub for arts and cultural dialogue. He said the theme reflects the UAE’s vision of culture as a catalyst for peace, coexistence, harmony, and sustainable development. The festival continues the UAE’s tradition of blending heritage with modernity, presenting Emirati and Arab creativity alongside global talent on Abu Dhabi’s international stages, a UNESCO City of Music.
The festival will also celebrate the strong friendship and cultural cooperation between the UAE and the United States, marking over 50 years of bilateral relations and the US’s 250th anniversary of independence. H.H. Sheikh Abdullah stressed that these celebrations showcase the nations’ shared commitment to tolerance, human fraternity, and global stability, while highlighting the universal language of culture that connects people and sparks meaningful dialogue.
The 2026 program will feature cross-cultural initiatives, including premieres, co-productions, and collaborative projects with leading global cultural institutions. These events are designed to inspire creativity, innovation, and cultural exchange, while reinforcing Abu Dhabi’s position as a global platform for artistic and cultural collaboration. Special emphasis will be placed on engaging youth, supporting artists, and inspiring audiences across the UAE.
As ADMAF marks 30 years of service under Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, the 2026 Abu Dhabi Festival reaffirms the UAE’s commitment to nurturing talent, enriching the creative sector, and promoting culture as a force for progress. The festival exemplifies how culture unites nations, enhances global dialogue, and builds a future based on wisdom, creativity, and international cooperation.
