The Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Centre (ALC), part of the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi), is preparing to host the Congress of Arabic & Creative Industries on 14th and 15th September 2025. This international event will take place under the theme “Arabic Creativity Reimagined: Innovation in Storytelling and Audience Engagement.”

First Standalone Global Platform for Arabic Creativity

This year, the Congress will return in a new standalone format, meaning it will be held as a separate event rather than as part of a larger one. This new format helps establish the Congress as the first international platform solely focused on Arabic creative expression. It aims to highlight the richness and potential of Arabic creativity, while promoting cultural and economic development across the Arab world and beyond.

Aiming to Strengthen Arab Creative Participation

The Congress seeks to offer forward-looking insights and support Arab talent to play a more active role in the global creative industries. By doing so, it will help build a stronger cultural identity, create new job opportunities, and foster sustainable development. The event serves not just cultural purposes, but also economic goals by encouraging investment and innovation in Arabic creative fields.

Workshops and Training on Modern Creative Tools

The Congress will feature a range of professional activities, such as training sessions and workshops. These sessions will cover areas like artificial intelligence (AI), scriptwriting, audiobook production, digital publishing, and game design. Participants will also learn about sustainable business models, which are essential for growing creative projects in today’s digital economy.

Arabic as a Language of Innovation and Imagination

Dr. Ali Bin Tamim, Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Centre, spoke about the broader role of the Arabic language. He said,

“Arabic is not only a language of poetry and philosophy, it’s a language of innovation, invention, and imagination.”

He emphasized that the Congress aims to protect, support, and promote Arabic creativity by combining it with modern technologies. This includes using tools like artificial intelligence to build new narratives, create global connections, and encourage investment in Arabic creative sectors.

Gathering Creatives, Policymakers, and Media Experts

The two-day event will bring together a wide variety of people, including Arab and international creatives, cultural policymakers, technology experts, media professionals, and content creators. Attendees will take part in panel discussions, collaborative sessions, and networking activities, all designed to encourage global partnerships and exchange of knowledge in the field of Arabic creative industries.

Public Engagement Through Cultural Activities

The Congress will not only focus on industry professionals. It also aims to involve the public through interactive events, including book signings, cultural performances, and discussions with writers and directors. These activities will bridge the gap between content creators and the audience, giving people a chance to explore Arabic creativity firsthand.

Global Tech Leaders to Support Capacity Building

One of the Congress’s most exciting aspects is its Professional Capacity Building track. This part of the program is being held in collaboration with top global and regional organizations such as Google, Amazon Web Services (AWS), TikTok, Adobe, and Sard Writers’ Room. Together, they will offer training on topics like digital design, screenwriting, generative AI for Arabic content, audiobook trends, game development, and digital business models.

Boosting Local Talent and Launching New Initiatives

The Congress is also seen as a strategic platform to launch new ideas and discover emerging markets. One of its core goals is to support regional creative talent by helping them connect with well-known institutions and global companies. This will give local artists, designers, and writers a chance to share their work, learn from experts, and enter the global creative scene.

Congress X Youth: Inspiring the Next Generation

A special highlight of the 2025 Congress is the Congress X Youth Programme, which focuses entirely on university students and young creative minds. This program aims to inspire the next generation of leaders in cultural and creative industries. It includes capacity-building activities, the Congress X Youth Innovation Awards, and a showcase of young talent, allowing participants to be seen, heard, and recognized globally.

Opening Doors for Young Creators to Connect Globally

The youth-focused platform is more than just a showcase. It serves as a launchpad for young creatives, giving them access to professionals, tools, and resources. Participants will get a rare chance to interact with industry leaders, receive mentorship, and understand the real-world workings of creative industries. This investment in youth represents a long-term vision for a thriving and inclusive Arabic creative ecosystem.

Strengthening Abu Dhabi’s Role as Cultural Leader

By introducing this new and independent format for the Congress, the Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Centre aims to increase the role of the Arabic language in enriching the creative sector. This move also reinforces Abu Dhabi’s growing status as a global leader in cultural innovation and creativity. The city is becoming a hub for creative collaboration, where the arts, technology, and tradition meet.

Encouraging Dialogue Across Borders and Cultures

One of the Congress’s broader missions is to promote cross-cultural dialogue. By bringing together diverse participants and creative professionals, the Congress hopes to encourage understanding across different regions and cultures. This aligns with the larger goal of building a more connected and creative world, where Arabic content plays a strong, visible role.

A Future-Driven Platform for Arabic Creativity

The Congress of Arabic & Creative Industries 2025 is set to be a major global event that will not only celebrate the beauty and diversity of the Arabic language, but also equip creators with modern tools and networks. It blends tradition with technology, culture with commerce, and youth with experience—making it a vital step forward for the future of Arabic storytelling and innovation.
