Al Dhaheri Seals Historic 2026 Formula Regional Middle East Vice-Championship

Post by : Shakul

Rashid AL Dhaheri has concluded the 2026 Formula Regional Middle East Trophy as Vice-Champion, narrowly missing the title in a dramatic final round. The season marked a major milestone in his career, defined by consistency, breakthrough wins, and history-making achievements on one of the most competitive grids in recent years.

Throughout four intense rounds, Al Dhaheri led the championship standings in three, establishing himself as the benchmark driver of the season. Competing against top young talents from Europe, Asia, and the Americas—many linked to leading FIA junior academies—he stood out as the sole representative from the MENA region, carrying both competitive and symbolic significance.

The defining moment of the campaign came on home soil in Abu Dhabi at Yas Marina Circuit, where Al Dhaheri secured three commanding race victories across two rounds. These wins made him the first MENA driver to claim victories in Formula Regional competition, a breakthrough widely hailed as a turning point for Middle Eastern motorsport.

Despite facing technical challenges and fierce competition during the final round in Qatar, Al Dhaheri maintained his composure and secured enough points to finish the season as Vice-Champion, losing the overall title by only a handful of points. His 2026 winter campaign now stands as the most successful by a MENA driver in Formula Regional Middle East history.

Looking ahead, Al Dhaheri will transition to Europe, where he is set to compete in the FIA Formula Regional European Championship beginning in late April. The eight-round series, hosted on iconic Formula One circuits, represents the next step in his rise on the international single-seater ladder.
