Al-Falah University Disavows Doctors Tied to Faridabad Terror Investigation

Post by : Raina Al-Fahim

Al-Falah University has formally distanced itself from two doctors recently implicated in the Faridabad terror module, asserting that the institution has "no association with the individuals except in their professional capacity." The university labeled the reports connecting it to the incidents as "unfounded and defamatory," reiterating its dedication to ethical and lawful educational practices.

The Faridabad terror case emerged after authorities discovered 2,900 kg of ammonium nitrate and other combustible materials in two rental properties used by Dr. Muzammil Shakeel, a Kashmiri physician employed at Al-Falah Medical College. Furthermore, a Krinkov assault rifle and live ammunition were recovered from a vehicle linked to Dr. Shaheen, another doctor affiliated with the institution.

Investigators have unveiled a "white-collar terror ecosystem," comprising radicalized professionals and students with alleged ties to foreign operatives based in Pakistan and other nations. Mohammad Umar, also a staff member at Al-Falah Medical College, is reportedly under suspicion for orchestrating the Red Fort explosion, although he allegedly carried out the incident alone following the arrest of his accomplices.

In reaction, Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Bhupinder Kaur Anand expressed her dismay and condemned the occurrences. She clarified that the detained doctors acted independently and that the university had no part in their actions beyond their official duties. Prof. Anand also noted that all facilities on campus are strictly used for educational and professional training and adhere to applicable safety, regulatory, and ethical standards.

The university reaffirmed that students remain focused on their academic pursuits and that the campus must maintain peace and order. Al-Falah University asserted its cooperation with the investigating authorities, pledging full support for a thorough and fair inquiry.

Prof. Anand denounced the spread of "unfounded and misleading narratives" online, highlighting that such rumors intend to tarnish the institution's reputation. She also underscored the university’s track record, pointing out that it has been training medical professionals since 2019 and has made significant contributions to the healthcare sector both nationally and internationally.

In conclusion, Al-Falah University reiterated its dedication to national unity, safety, and its students' continued education, urging the public and media to verify claims before disseminating unconfirmed information.
