ALAS to Build Major Concrete Plant in Dubai

ALAS to Build Major Concrete Plant in Dubai

Post by : Bianca Haleem

ALAS Emirates Ready Mix, one of the UAE’s leading ready-mix concrete suppliers and the largest in Abu Dhabi, has signed an agreement with Dubai Industrial City, part of TECOM Group PJSC, to develop a new large-scale production facility in Dubai.

The upcoming project will cover more than 160,000 square feet and marks a key step in ALAS’s regional expansion strategy. The new plant will help the company strengthen its operations across the UAE and better serve construction projects nationwide.

Groundbreaking Ceremony

The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by senior leaders, including Saud Abu Alshawareb, Executive Vice President – Industrial at TECOM Group PJSC, representing Dubai Industrial City; Saif Mubarak Fadel Al Mazrouei, Chairman of Bin Fadel Holding; and Petr Celis, CEO of the ALAS Construction Materials Division. Representatives from leading construction companies were also present.

Facility Features and Capacity

The new facility will include modern administrative offices and advanced operational infrastructure. It will also feature state-of-the-art batching plants designed for lower power consumption, supporting more sustainable construction practices.

Construction is expected to be completed in the third quarter of 2026, with operations set to begin in the same period. Once operational, the plant will have a ready-mix concrete production capacity of up to 400 cubic metres per hour.

Supporting UAE Industrial Growth

Saud Abu Alshawareb said that strengthening the building materials sector is essential for supporting the UAE’s industrial and construction goals. He added that the new facility aligns with national initiatives such as Operation 300bn, Make it in the Emirates, and the Dubai Economic Agenda ‘D33’.

According to him, Dubai Industrial City’s infrastructure, strategic location, and industry-focused ecosystem are designed to support ambitious projects and contribute to a future-ready economy.

Petr Celis said that launching the Dubai branch is an important milestone in ALAS’s UAE growth journey. He noted that investing in advanced production technologies and strategically located facilities will help the company deliver high-quality and reliable concrete solutions in an efficient and sustainable manner.

Why Dubai Industrial City?

Established in 2004, Dubai Industrial City is one of the region’s leading manufacturing and logistics hubs. It hosts more than 1,100 customers and over 350 operational factories across sectors such as base metals, machinery, minerals, food and beverage, transport, and chemicals.

The district is strategically located near Jebel Ali Port and Al Maktoum International Airport and includes an Etihad Rail freight terminal, making it a key link in global supply chains.

By choosing Dubai Industrial City, ALAS Emirates Ready Mix aims to benefit from its strong infrastructure and strategic connectivity while supporting the UAE’s fast-growing construction sector.
